Sherlock Holmes - The Scandal of the Scarlet WomanSherlock Holmes - The Scandal of the Scarlet WomanSherlock Holmes - The Scandal of the Scarlet Woman

Simon Marper

This is a twisting, seductive thriller, very much a period “Sleuth” for a man and a woman, based on the classic story A Scandal in Bohemia by Arthur Conan Doyle.

When Sherlock Holmes, the world’s most famous detective, meets Irene Adler, the world’s most dangerous woman, he little realises that he and Dr Watson will get embroiled themselves in her sinister web of seduction and deceit.

Set in Victorian London, and entirely in the style of a well-made play, with a beginning, middle and end, that very much appeals to traditional theatre audiences, but with an energy and vibrancy of production that will appeal to audiences of all ages, Sherlock Holmes – The Scandal of the Scarlet Woman tells how Holmes is engaged to protect the monarch of a minor European principality from the blackmail demands of the notorious society beauty, with whom the King has foolishly become involved. As the plot unfolds, an enthralling battle of wits builds to a thrilling climax that takes Irene and Sherlock ... not to mention the audience ... entirely by surprise!

“an intriguing, accomplished new look at the master detective … you will relish [the] masked identities and sudden surprising revelations … you can almost smell the faded decadence … the play never takes itself too seriously, and there are moments for a knowing wink or a chuckle … you will enjoy it" (Eastbourne Herald)

“John Goodrum and Karen Henson portray with relish how Holmes and Dr Watson become caught up in a web of deceit [and] intrigue” (Brighton Argus)
